There was a feeling in the Club at the start of the season that this could be a special season. We had a pack, not much changed from the previous season, when they had been marvellously effective. And in Jamie Caton, Tom Emmitt and Luke Spiers, three of the quickest strike runners in the League. Back that lot up with Stuart Spiers, Pat Norton, Toby Skinner and Jamie Weller , with Dave Winstone and Ollie Jarman joining in the close season, and you can understand how optimistic we were feeling. |

A long, hard season ended on Saturday in defeat, but by no means ignominious, for Vigo’s second string. Against a powerful and experienced Juddians side they fought hard but were ultimately overpowered on a hot, almost summery day. |

Vigo’s under 16’s welcomed Oakmeadians, from Bournemouth, as visitors on Sunday and were given rather a brutal lesson by a very good side. The visiting side possessed some class players, especially in the threes, and Vigo were overwhelmed. On the whole Vigo fought hard but too often let negative thoughts cloud their judgement and ambitions. |
