Vigo narrowly lost to Cranbrook in their first game for 3 weeks after the inclement weather but came within a lick of paint of snatching an amazing win in a sometimes feisty encounter. Dave Winstone’s penalty attempt from near the half way line agonisingly hit the bar and bounced to safety in the last few minutes for what would have been a fortuitous win it has to be said. |

Vigo’s second string continued their improvement with an excellent win away at their close rivals, Old Gravesendians. On the infamous ‘banana’ pitch, Vigo battled to a win even though reduced to thirteen men at one stage as tempers got heated in the latter stages of a match, well refereed by that old poacher-turned-gamekeeper, John Foreman. |

2010 AT SWANSWOOD
How appropriate the scoreline in this the first game of the new decade at Vigo RFC. In this rearranged fixture because of the heavy snow from before Christmas, both sides were probably under strength but still managed to put on a sometimes feisty encounter, in which Vigo tasted their first ever win over the Anchorians senior side. |
