Condolences
It is with great regret and sadness that we have learnt of the death of Martyn Carter

Martyn died on February 11th from a massive stroke
.
There will be a thanksgiving service at St Mary's Church, Fawkham on Tuesday 2nd March at 1.15 p.m.

Donations to the Eleanor/ Lions Hospice and The Smile Train through Lewis Solomon Funeral Service, 19 Darnley Road, Gravesend DA11 0RZ. .

Martyn, who was Jim Jenman's son-in-law was a player, hon. secretary, trustee and an all-round nice Vigo RFC bloke, even when you sat in his dental chair.

He leaves a wife, Sue and sons Tom, Ben and Giles - all who went through mini-rugby, until they discovered soccer.

Obviously, our thoughts and prayers go to Martyn's family.

However, after last week’s performance when Vigo were ripped apart by some devastating rugby by Olavians, full of inventiveness, quick wit and flowing threequarter moves, they were grateful for this narrow win. Oh, that all teams had the style, grace and generosity of the Orpington based outfit, then the rugby world would be a much sunnier place. Alas, this world is a much crueller place and we are thankful that such teams have the good grace to deign us with their presence.
